STENCIL WINNERS

Hi Everyone! I wanted to explain how I notify the Winners of my Free Stencil Drawings. I go to their blog and leave a comment under the latest post AND I also make a New Post on my blog naming the winner and adding the picture of the Stencil they won. If they do not have a BLOG I email them at their email address, my folder is set up to save every sent email so I always have a copy.
Most of the time I always hear back from the winner right away , sometimes I know life gets busy and I hear from them about 3 days or so later and then I have some winners who NEVER claim their prize.
So I have decided to give every winner a 7 day window to contact me with their shipping info from the day I annouce the winner.
I thought about having a redraw but decided not to because my drawings are so seasonal and who wants to win a Christmas Stencil after Christmas?
Thanks Yall and thanks for understanding! Hugs BeCca

I Just Cant Help Myself

This is a picture of my baby boy Drew when he was around 1 1/2 years old. He was so in love with Barney...LOL....he had a Barney Doll and all kinds of Barney movies and he watched Barney on TV every afternoon! So one day I ran into the grocery store ( it was a new store County Market) and they were having a Grand Opening and dont you know who I saw??? Barney!! So I talked this Barney into holding Drew while I took a picture....and I was so shocked when Drew started crying...LOL....look at that sweet little baby face.....what a cutie baby!

UPDATE ON EBAY FEEDBACK REMOVAL

I called ebay again and this time the actually removed that Feedback. So it's gone now...LOL....I can move on. Hugs BeCca

Monday, October 12, 2009

Sorry Everyone I Have To Vent

This is really bothering me about a Neutral feedback I received on ebay...that ebay has agreed to remove twice and still hasnt and to be honest with you I just dont have time to be on the phone dealing with The STUPIDS not to mention as long as it stays there the whole world can see the Dummy I am dealing with.

Apparently I sold a stencil to an illiterate person named Dummy since I can't use his real name his nickname will be Dummy as it suits him perfectly. In my description the very first line in all CAPS reads THIS IS A STENCIL THIS IS NOT A SIGN PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE then it goes on to Hello and so on....

Obviously if someone was wanting a sign and it clearly states its not a sign they wouldnt have bought it....YA THINK? Well not Dummy ...he paid immediately too. Here is another CLUE that this is NOT a 6" x 24" SIGN......Postage was $2.95 1st Class weighing in at 3 OUNCES ...thats right 3 oz....what kind of a sign weighs 3 oz? Dummy you are such a Dummy!

So anyway back to the story this sale took place back in AUGUST....do ya think Dummy had sense to email me? NOPE why would he ...he is Dumb afterall. So I never hear anything until I get this Marvelous feedback that reads and I quote " listing was misleading- this was not a sign, it was a piece of plastic" You are right about the plastic....which by the way Dummy is a STENCIL!
Here is the link to the listing
Better To Remain Silent Abe Lincoln Looka there Dummy you should have taken Old Abes Advice and kept your stupidity to yourself.

Ebay says Feedback is an opinion...what Dummy left was no opinion ...and if I were Dummy I would get some reading lessons and read my ebay user agreement where it clearly states you are not allowed to post FALSE feedback...in this case this is what DUMMY did.

Now I do think its funny how this DUMMY was so stupid and mad at himself he had to take it out on my feedback...to me he is a sad Dummy that can't admit he was wrong. I hope Dummy comes by and gets someone to read this to him because we all know the obvious.

And now I feel much better. Hugs BeCca

GREAT VIRUS SCAN

I have had my share of CRAZY viruses on my computer. After trying all those FREE places that didnt work I wanted to share with Yall who I use to get rid of everything , a website called Garbage Clean They are REALLY GOOD. Scans are 99 cents each ( you buy $10.00 at one time with PayPal ) If incase you think it didnt work they send you a couple of files to run on your computer and you send them back and they find it for you and get rid of it. I had something one time that wasnt in their database and they got it and added it so now when anyone scans it will be detected if they have it!

WHERE IS FOLK ART FROM THE HARBOR. COM?

Last year I transfered my domain name to Go Daddy everything paid for upfront plus got another year because when you transfer it was like $1.99 and they offer you another year of service real cheap....well guess what? Today I find out the transfer didn't take and I had to reactivate my domain with yahoo ( which is where I made my original purchase ) so now I have to wait for my site to pop back up! Oh and Go Daddy refunded my money! Yeah!
And it's HOT here....OMGOSH I can't even buy an air conditioner cause there aren't any for sale....no stores have any and they dont have any fans either...I don't need fans but I would love to have some air! I can say this though I am going to purchase an air conditioner online and even if it takes 10 days to get here and our weather breaks back to cool I will never get caught like this again.

29 STRAIGHT DAYS NO RAIN

Hello I thought I would share some of whats going on at the Harbor. If we last until midnight tonight with no rain we will have broken a 1982 record. There are still so many people who think it rains up here everyday. Well that's just not true. I happen to LOVE the rain especially during our rainy months which start in November. Our nights are longer making it so cozy when its cold and raining!
School will be out next week the pool is ready but there wont be any swimming going on here (still too cold) until after the 4th of July. It's not summer until after the 4th! Hopefully we will have a few warm days this year.

FREE STENCIL FOR JUNE DRAWING

Hey Yall! I am finally getting around to designing a new stencil for Junes drawing. So much going on this month....still getting my new computer set up. I hate to D/L everything all at one time so I do a little every other day or so. You know we all get so bummed out when things break down or tear up or just plain wear out and we have to run out and replace things....well I have been thinking how blessed we are that we can even run out and buy new things.....we should be happy we can fix things back the way they were and even BETTER! I hope yall like this stencil. I think it would be so cute made up and super distressed! Stencil measures approx 6" x 18" made from Clear 5 mil mylar To be included in the drawing just leave a comment and I will draw a name on June 30th 2009.

OH MY WHAT A BUMMER

For the past week my computer has been breaking down......It was not an old one maybe 2 1/2 years old ......I have used about 25 Gigs with a 100 available so I didnt have too much stuff on there. As it was falling apart it first didnt recognize my IP address and my modem could not make a connection. So I had no choice but to do the dial up thing which is such a pain in da bootie! I am not used to that! So then I figured I would get a cable modem but they couldnt come out til the 24th. And today I turned on my Stencil Cutter and all my COM ports disappeared! Right into thin air ...all gone! I almost freaked out!!! I still dont know what happened there! UUUGGGHHHHH!!!! What sucks is I just bought 4 new tires and an oil change for my car on Tuesday and today I went bought me a new computer....I figured I'd might as well go for it and get it all over with!
OK so now I am back on track....I will design and list a new Free Stencil over the weekend for the June drawing!
June is also my birthday month so I might have an additional prize for a lucky winner!

Wishing Everyone A Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone! I am still working on a few wholesale orders and in the midst of everything I have decided I need all new ornies for my tree! LOL! I am shooting for Monday to have everything ready to decorate. We are using our 6 foot artificial Canadian Alpine this year. Last year we had a real tree and even though they are so beautiful and smell so nice its the biggest pain in the butt to get rid of it up here. You pay more to have it hauled off then the tree originally costs. Anyway I designed a couple of New Snowmen that will make it on the tree this year! I will post pictures as soon as I get them! One Of My Favorites From Paul Harvey

We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them
worse.
For my grandchildren, I'd like better.

I'd really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and
homemade
ice
cream and leftover meat loaf sandwiches. I really would.

I hope you learn humility by being humiliated, and that you learn
honesty
by
being cheated.

I hope you learn to make your own bed and mow the lawn and wash the
car.

And I really hope nobody gives you a brand new car when you are
sixteen.

It will be good if at least one time you can see puppies born and your
old
dog put to sleep.

I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in.

I hope you have to share a bedroom with your younger brother/sister.
And
it's all right if you have to draw a line down the middle of the room,
but
when
he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he's scared, I
hope you
let him.

When you want to see a movie and your little brother/sister wants to
tag
along, I hope you'll let him/her.

I hope you have to walk uphill to school with your friends and that
you
live
in a town where you can do it safely.

On rainy days when you have to catch a ride, I hope you don't ask your
driver to drop you two blocks away so you won't be seen riding with
someone
as
uncool as your Mom.

If you want a slingshot, I hope your Dad teaches you how to make one
instead
of buying one.

I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books.

When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and
subtract
in your head.

I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush
on a
boy\girl, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what
ivory
soap
tastes like.

May you skin your knee climbing a mountain, burn your hand on a stove
and
stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.

I don't care if you try a beer once, but I hope you don't like it. And
if a
friend offers you dope or a joint, I hope you realize he is not your
friend.

I sure hope you make time to sit on a porch with your Grandma/Grandpa
and
go
fishing with your Uncle.

May you feel sorrow at a funeral and joy during the holidays.

I hope your mother punishes you when you throw a baseball through your
neighbor's window and that she hugs you and kisses you at
Hannukah/Christmas time
when you give her a plaster mold of your hand.

These things I wish for you - tough times and disappointment, hard
work and
happiness. To me, it's the only way to appreciate life.

Vote For Andrew Cystic Fibrosis Scholarship Finalist

From Tina At Old Glory Soldiers
Please click Title of Post

This is an email I received from my cousin in Georgia ... she is a teacher, and as you can tell she is very compassionate about her students .... please read Andrew's story and if you feel it in your heart vote for him ... all it takes is a click of a button...

"Thought y'all would want to help Andrew out. For those of you who don't know, I taught Andrew in the 6th grade. He is a VERY intelligent young man. It used to bother me tremendously that Andrew was so smart, yet so sickly. I just couldn't understand why God would allow someone of such wonderful intelligence to have a dreadful disease. Well, you live and learn. Andrew has a purpose in life and it is to touch the hearts of all the people he meets. He even came back to Bainbridge and taught one year at Hutto last year. Thanks in advance for helping him out! Have a great day!"

CLEANING YOUR STENCILS

I have so many stencils! Over 1000 and I lost count. I paint everyday and most days I dont have time to clean them after each use. Now I know youve heard about cleaning them with Rubbing Alcohol, Simple Green, Goat Milk Soap and Soaking them in Sudsy Water. Well I have tried ALL of these except for the Goat Soap and I just dont have time to stand or sit there and rub paint off of my stencils ESPECIALLY when its built up several coats! So I have come up with a solution! One so easy you are just not going to believe it until you try it!
First it is PERFECT for built up paint or just a few layers the KEY here is your STENCIL has to be DRY .....BONE DRY!
I like to pull out my work table and lay all the "Heavy" stencils down next to one another. Paint side up of course. Then I take a can of EASY OFF OVEN CLEANER in the YELLOW CAN and I spray them and WALK AWAY. Sometimes I am gone for 30 minutes or an hour or even longer. Then I get my water hose out with the spray nozzle attachment you know the one like you have by the kitchen sink. I spray all that paint right off these stencils and they are so Clean they look BRAND NEW!
You can do this in your house if you want to, but remember there are fumes to deal with so open a door or window.
Remember you heard it here first!

*STENCILS*

After many years of buying stencils I have decided to cut my own and sell them at an affordable price. This way if you want a variety of stencils it wont break your bank. I am running Weekly Introductory Specials, to get in on that you have to sign up for my Newsletter in my ebay store. You definitely dont wanna miss out on those. One week I had some 6 x 24's listed for $3.99!
Stencils are available in 5 mil and 7 mil Clear Mylar.
Spend $30.00 or more on Stencils and get FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA!
Click *STENCILS* above and see what I have so far!

Drew in Denver Colorado

This past July my sons went on a Youth Trip at Estes Park in Denver. They had a blast. It was Drews first time flying on an airplane and of course he loved it. It was really nice for the 2 to be together in over a year. We live in Washington State and Darren had moved back to Georgia so we are about 3000 miles apart. My Drewdy is the good lookin one on the end!

Dark Wing Duck

Darren loved Dark Wing Duck ( it was a cartoon ~ a crime fighting Duck ) so much when he was little I started calling him that and still do. He probably didnt want everybody to know that....hehehehee!

Darren Smiles

This is my oldest son Darren and his friend Brandon at a Youth Trip at Estes Park in Denver CO. Darren is wearing his cap backwards. Its nice to see him smile because he always takes everything so serious.

1870 MILK PAINT RECIPE

1870 Milk Paint Formula
By Dwayne Siever, Copyright © 2002

What is milk paint?
Before commercially prepared paint was available, paint was made at home based on formulas handed down from generation to generation. Milk paint was made from old curdled milk or cottage cheese, lime and earth pigment for color.
1870 Milk Paint Formula
* 1 Quart skim milk (room temperature)
* 1 Once of hydrated lime by weight (Available at building centers. Do not use quick lime, as it will react with the water and heat up. Hydrated lime has been soaked in water then dried.)
* 1 to 2 1/2 pounds of chalk may also be added as a filler.
Stir in enough skim milk to hydrated lime to make a cream. Add balance of skim milk. Now add sufficient amount of powder pigment to desired color and consistency (Pigment powder must be limeproof). Stir in well for a few minutes before using. For best results continue to stir throughout use.
Apply milk paint with a cheap natural bristle brush. Allow project to dry sufficiently before applying next coat.

Extra paint may be kept for several days in the refrigerator, until the milk sours.
Double or triple the recipe for paint. Allow to dry thoroughly 3-4 hours before use. For extra protection, give paint a coat of oil finish or sealer. Color may change - test in inconspicuous area.
